Tanya Targett

A multi-published, award-winning daily news journalist and former investigative reporter.

Yes, she’s a media expert and an experienced journalist, but more so Tanya is an entrepreneur who has known adversity, fought it, “lost to it”, and then come back.

Swapping the newsroom for retail, Tanya lost her first six-figure business to an inland tsunami which killed 38 people in Queensland, Australia, in 2011.

Having secured national and international media for that business – an online retail store and party plan venture which reached the top 100 of its kind – entrepreneurs were quick to ask Tanya for her secrets, and begged her to teach them how she did it.

So, when the flood waters receded Tanya did just that.

She built another six-figure business, but this time in just six months – as a solo parent, on zero income and with zero marketing budget.

Always “walking the talk”, Tanya has been quoted and featured in national and international media – including magazines, newspapers and television – and was also a consultant editor for the true story of serial killer Leonard Fraser, in the landmark book Things A Killer Would Know.

Born in Hereford, England before emigrating to the Middle East and then Australia, Tanya is a multi-published, award-winning daily news journalist with 20 years industry experience. She now lives with her daughter and two cocker spaniels on the Gold Coast, in Queensland, where they pursue their love of mud running.
